Vanille des Îles
The coast of Santo Domingo appeared abruptly in the distance, like a long-awaited mirage after days of sailing in the Caribbean Sea. The island’s silhouette lays out a promise of exuberant and sweet nature. Tracing the footsteps of Christopher Columbus, I’m in search of the treasures of the West Indies: vanilla, rose petals and peaches taunt my nose and my senses.
